Torsten Knoll

Since 2005, Torsten Knoll has worked as a theatre composer at various theatres such as the Residenztheater Munich, Schauspielhaus Bochum, Düsseldorfer Schauspielhaus and Theater Konstanz, where he also appeared for two seasons with his solo evening ‘Das schwarze Piano’. He also worked as a lecturer at the Akademie für Darstellende Kunst Baden-Württemberg in Ludwigsburg from 2008 to 2018, the last three years as musical director. Knoll has worked with directors including Andrzej Woron, Johanna Schall, Martina Eitner-Acheampong, Aureliusz Smigiel and Meera Theunert. Coming from piano and vocals, Torsten Knoll plays everything that has keys, everything that can be used to play percussion, trombone, guitar and bass. He lives and works in Berlin.
