Beate Krützkamp

Speech teacher, actress, theatre pedagogue


Beate Krützkamp did her first professional training as a curative education nurse from 1981-84. This was followed by training in acting and speech formation at the Alanus University, Bonn.

After several professional years in Hanover, Hamburg and Stuttgart, Beate Krützkamp has lived in Berlin since 2002 and is a lecturer for "Breath, Voice, Text" at the Berlin University of the Arts in the department of theatre education, music/vocals and "Storytelling in art and education".

At the Michael Tschechow Studio Berlin she has been training acting students in speaking for the stage since 2002.

She regularly directs theatre and children's plays with acting students at the MTSB and seminar participants in curative education at Lake Constance.

In 2016, together with colleagues from Berlin, she founded the 'Agency for Speech', an interdisciplinary further education programme for speech teachers.

She performs herself with scenic literature projects and readings on Gertrude Stein, Paul Celan, Johannes Bobrowski, Yoko Tawada and many more.
